What Does Full Coverage On My Auto Policy Really Mean? (Waco, TX)

A lot of people really don't understand what full coverage is.
Full coverage is just the coverage on your own vehicles. Then there's also liability coverage. In the state of Texas, the minimum limits are $30,000 per person and $60,000 per accident for liability insurance. So if you are in an accident and it's your fault and your car is totaled, your car is going to be covered regardless of what the other person has.
However, those hospital bills could easily add up to $300,000 and you could end up paying for about 75% of that because you were on state minimums. Your full coverage really isn't full. It's a marketing tactic and a cost strategy that companies use. In order to sell more of their products, but what it really doesn't do is protect you.
