Hi everyone! Dennis Polian here with The Polian Agency and welcome to Coverage Corner. You know a question we get a lot from our clients is, will, my homeowners policy cover me if I'm sued and the short answer is, well, maybe. It all depends on the policy that you have and the coverage you put in place at the time you bought that policy. Most homeowners plans do have personal liability protection in case there's an accident at your home. Somebody slips and falls on an icy driveway and decides to sue you - that personal liability protection can cover medical bills, legal expenses, and even settlement costs. However, you might not have enough in that plan to protect you based on your family's needs. Another thing to consider is an umbrella policy. It is a cost-effective way to increase your liability protections without impacting the cost of your homeowners' policy and it's a great way to create an overall, liability protection for you and your family. That's why they call it umbrella. The most important thing is... review your policies, call your agents, ask the right questions, make sure they have you and your family in the right place. Thank you for watching. Don't forget to share and like, and we'll see you next week.
